If you want to be in a book club, basically you've got two options: find a pre-existing club or form your own.
Finding a Pre-existing Club
If you want to join a club that already exists, you need to simply locate a community of readers. Think of the places you frequent or groups you already take part in. Maybe your church has a club or your gym. Try your favorite coffee shops. Almost all public libraries have book clubs too. Or if you'd rather, try a virtual club; just do a search for "online book club."
Forming a New Club: Step by Step Directions
1) Think about what kind of club you want to form.
Questions you might consider: Will this club only read certain types of books? Do you want your club to focus on a particular author, genre, or time period? Will your club include more than reading? For example, maybe your club will read a book and then cook a recipe related to the title? Or maybe you'll read the book and then see the movie.
2) Find and recruit book club members.
3) Decide when, where, and how often you will meet.
4) Come up with a systematic process for choosing books, for discussions, and basic club rules.
5) Select a book and start reading!
